(Kitco News) – Hecla Mining (NYSE: HL) today announced that in Q2 2022, the company produced 3.6 million ounces of silver, an increase of 3% over Q2 2021 (3.5 million ounces) due to record throughput at the Lucky Friday mine.
The company also produced 45,718 ounces of gold (Q2 2021: 59,139 ounces), 16,766 tonnes of zinc (Q2 2021: 17,211 tonnes), and 13,331 tonnes of lead (Q2 2021: 11,541 tonnes).
President and CEO Phillips S. Baker, Jr., said, “On July 5th we announced the acquisition of Alexco Resource Corp. which owns the Keno Hill silver district in the Yukon Territory of Canada. In addition to being the largest silver producer in the United States, with completion of necessary development at Keno Hill, Hecla has the potential to become the largest silver producer in Canada.”
