Rent Baz Luhrmann’s Gramercy Park townhouse for $75K a month

Aussie-born filmmaker Baz Luhrmann’s Gramercy Park home can be yours — for a cool $75,000 a month.

The Anglo-Italianate townhouse, at 243 E. 17th St., is also on the sales market for $18.99 million — down $1 million from its $19.99 million asking price when it first hit the market in June

Luhrmann — who is once again garnering Oscar buzz for his hit, “Elvis” — and his Academy Award-winning wife, costumes and production design master Catherine Martin, bought the home for $13.5 million in 2017.

Luhrmann made his name with films like “Romeo + Juliet,” “The Great Gatsby” and “Moulin Rouge!” The power couple often work together professionally — and their New York home is as colorful and dramatic as anything they’ve ever created for Hollywood.

The 28-foot-wide, 6,550-square-foot property, built in the 1920s, comes with six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a winding staircase and an elevator.

Striking details include bay windows, arched doors, high ceilings, a cast-iron balcony, five fireplaces (one woodburning), skylights, original moldings and extravagant wallpaper — along with views of Stuyvesant Square Park.

The duo directed the home’s 2019 renovation, which starred in shelter magazines like Elle Decor.

The garden floor features an entry gallery, a large eat-in chef’s kitchen with a pantry and a formal dining room with a woodburning fireplace.

The kitchen also leads to one of the home’s best features: an ivy-clad walled garden.

Next up is the parlor floor, which boasts 16-foot ceilings and a curved staircase.

While the third floor has three bedrooms, laundry and a sitting room — the fourth floor is set up as a “standalone” suite with a living room, a bar, a gym, a bedroom and a bathroom.

The new owners also have the option of building up an additional 2,242 square feet.

The former owners are the late Clifford Jordan, a renowned jazz tenor saxophonist, and his wife, Sandy Jordan.

There’s also a finished basement with a media room, additional laundry, access to the garden and another bedroom with a separate entrance that can serve as a home office.

The listing broker is Corcoran’s Steve Gold of “Million Dollar Listing New York.”
