Texas Panhandle ranch with 7,000 acres goes up for sale for $11.55 million

Another big Texas ranch is up for grabs along the Red River.

The 7,000-acre Sandhill Ranch is in Hall County near the town of Estelline.

The Texas Panhandle spread is about 200 miles from Dallas and stretches for more than four miles on a fork of the Red River. The huge property is being used for cattle and hunting and is named for the prominent sand hills near the river.

The property comes complete with a 5,500-square-foot hunting lodge that sleeps 29 people. The lodge includes a commercial kitchen and six private suites.

There’s also a ranch manager’s house, a barn and other outbuildings.

“This sportsman’s paradise provides unrivaled free range mule deer, whitetail, quail, turkey, dove and hog hunting,” real estate agent Thomas Merritt says in the marketing pitch for the property. “The unique terrain is great for horseback riding and off-roading.

“Sandhill Ranch has been owned and operated by the same family for more than 30 years,” he said. “The property has been improved and well maintained to support private and commercial hunting as well as farming and ranching activities.”

Murray Real Estate Services is offering the ranch with a price tag of $11.55 million — or $1.650 an acre.

The Sandhill Ranch is just one of several big Texas Panhandle ranch properties currently on the market.
