A Nevada Home Designed with Numerology in Mind

For Angeles Scorsetti and her husband Steve Mason, the numbers 8 and 9 have special meaning. Symbolizing the constant flow of energy and new beginnings, Ms. Scorsetti said, the numbers are often incorporated into her work. 

So it’s no coincidence that the couple’s home outside Las Vegas is listing for $11.888 million, down slightly from its original listing price of $11.89 million in May.

Ms. Scorsetti, an interior designer, also integrated their lucky numbers throughout the home, which they bought in May 2021 for $4.85 million. At the entrance to the house, there are eight flower vases, Ms. Scorsetti said. In the kitchen there are eight bar stools, and the dining room has eight chairs.

Built in 2018, the roughly 8,500-square-foot home sits on about an acre in a gated community in Henderson, about 13 miles from the Las Vegas Strip, according to listing agent Michele Sullivan of Douglas Elliman.

Ms. Scorsetti and Mr. Mason, a real-estate investor, said they were drawn to the house because it incorporates the four elements: earth, water, fire, and wind. The entryway of the stone house has a water feature, the property has a fire pit and three stone fireplaces, and the rear of the home faces south to optimize the feeling of the winds coming from the southeast, Ms. Sullivan said. An infinity-edge pool is also equipped with fire features.

The combination “gives you that presence of serenity,” Mr. Mason said. Ms. Scorsetti said they redecorated the interior of the home using pieces designed by the late furniture designer Christopher Guy Harrison.

The couple said they are selling because they are buying a castle outside of Paris and plan to live there. 

Home prices in the area have increased significantly since the pandemic, Ms. Sullivan said. In Henderson, there are currently about seven properties with listing prices over $12 million, a price point that was a rarity until recently, she said.
