Pakistan Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri Set To Chair NA Session

The National Assembly Secretariat on Sunday emphasised that Pakistan’s Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri did not resign from his position, according to local media, and that he will chair the vital National Assembly on Monday for the election of the new Prime Minister of Pakistan, news agency ANI reported.

IMD predicts heat wave

The national capital Delhi once again reeled under a “severe heatwave” for the fourth consecutive day on Sunday and will witness similar conditions for the next two days, as predicted by India Meteorological Department.

The meteorological office has issued an orange alert, warning of a ‘severe heatwave’ in the city on Monday too.

The IMD utilizes four colour codes for climate admonitions – green (no action needed), yellow (watch and stay updated), orange (be prepared) and red (take action). 

The capital has recorded four heatwave days such a long way in April this year, equalling the number of such days in the month in 2017.

Jagan Reddy Cabinet 2.0 to take oath

The new Andhra Pradesh Cabinet will be sworn in on Monday, a few days after all 24 ministers submitted their resignation to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The ministers resigned on Thursday ahead of the proposed reorganisation of the Council of Ministers.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had “happily” welcomed the resignation of his cabinet as the YSRCP chief, he claimed that as part of the preparation for upcoming state elections in 2024, it is a welcome move.

The new AP Council of Ministers will be reconstituted on April 11 with new faces. The ministers will take the oath at 11.31 am, sources said to ANI. This cabinet reshuffle holds importance ahead of the 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.
