Following the massive evacuation process of stranded Indian nationals from war-torn Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with various stakeholders, including community organisations and embassy officials from Hungary among other countries neighbouring Ukraine, for their involvement in Operation Ganga on Tuesday.

During the virtual interaction, he asserted that India has always acted with alacrity to assist its citizens during any international crisis, reported news agency PTI.

PM Modi referred to the age-old philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and said that the country has also extended humanitarian support to nationals of other countries during emergencies while attaching high priority to the safety of Indians abroad, according to an official statement.

With the festival of colours approaching nearer, the Delhi Metro on Tuesday announced that the metro services will not be available till 2.30 PM on Holi, March 18. 

“On Holi (18th March 2022), metro services will not be available till 2:30 PM on all lines of Delhi Metro, including Rapid Metro/Airport Express Line. Services will thus start at 2:30 PM from terminal stations on all lines and will continue normally thereafter,” DMRC tweeted.

Days after witnessing an embarrassing nosedive in Assembly Elections in five states, Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday sought the resignation of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Presidents of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur.

According to Congress senior leader Randeep Surjewala, Sonia Gandhi asked for the resignation of PCC Presidents of the states, which went to the polls between February and March this year, in order to facilitate the reorganisation of the Pradesh Congress Committee.

“Congress President, Smt. Sonia Gandhi has asked the PCC Presidents of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur to put in their resignations in order to facilitate the reorganisation of PCCs,” chief spokesperson of the party Randeep Surjewala said on Twitter.
