Tom Brady's retirement mansion revealed as Eco-estate on Miami's Indian Creek Island

Newly-retired NFL legend Tom Brady is planning to move his family into a sprawling eco-estate on Miami’s exclusive Indian Creek island, and DailyMail.com has obtained exclusive photos of the mansion being constructed.

Brady and his supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen made plans to move to the high-security enclave – dubbed Billionaire Bunker – after they purchased a $17million property there in late 2020. They’ve since torn down a pre-existing 5,772-square-foot home on the lot and are erecting a state-of-the-art eco-friendly mansion in its place.

Aerial photos show the construction process underway. The lot has been cleared and structures are beginning to take shape on the two-acre property, which boasts an oceanfront view and the neon-lit South Beach skyline.

The island – less than half a square mile in size – has been a magnet for billionaires, celebrities and power couples who’ve sought it out because it its privacy and security.

Once construction is complete, the family will be neighbors with Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump, hotel magnate Jeffrey Soffer and billionaire investor Carl Icahn.

Brady’s new estate appears to include a number of buildings, though it’s not clear when construction will be complete.

A source told Page Six that Brady and Bundchen plan to play an active role in the design of their new home, which they’ll share with son Benjamin, 12, daughter Vivian, 9, and Brady’s son from a previous marriage, Jack.

They are said to be avid design fans and love to obsesses over details such as different doorknob styles. For Brazilian beauty Bundchen, it’s particularly important to her that the property is ‘ecologically sound’.

The 300-acre island is occupied by just 34 lots with a median value of $20million, according to reports. Nestled along Biscayne Bay, it’s considered one of the safest and wealthiest enclaves in the nation.

The island, which is only accessible by a single, guarded bridge, is protected by a private police force that patrols the community around-the-clock by foot, sky, and land.

Each home on Indian Creek is built around the perimeter of the island to ensure all residents have a waterfront view. An exclusive country club – complete with a golf course – sits in the middle of the community.

Each lot on the island is at least 1.25 acres, and many of the homes are equipped with docks to park their boats. The water that neighbors the properties is a semi-tropical lagoon known for its biodiversity

The heavily-guarded island community is considered one of the safest and wealthiest enclaves in the nation and has 24-hour security by air, land and foot. It’s only accessible via a single bridge that is always guarded

The island, nestled between Miami and Miami Beach, got the nickname ‘Billionaire Bunker’ because of its uber-wealthy residents.

Brady is set to begin a less chaotic life after announcing his retirement Tuesday after revealing last week that he was planning to spend more time with his wife and children.

‘It’s not always what I want,’ Brady told SiriusXM‘s Jim Gray last week. ‘It’s what we want as a family.’

Discussing his wife and children, Brady stressed that he owes his family for the support they’ve given him.

‘She deserves what she needs from me as a husband and my kids deserve what they need from me as a dad,’ Brady said.

Brady and his wife – who have a combined net worth of $650million- already hold a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio with luxurious homes in Florida, California and Montana. The couple belong to the ultra-exclusive Yellowstone Club in Big Sky, Montana.

In December 2020 – the same month they bought their new lot – the couple sold their 12,000-square-foot Brookline, Massachusetts mansion for $32.5 million, Forbes reported. Their previous digs – which sat on a five-acre lot – were equipped with a yoga studio, spa, and wine room.

The couple also closed on selling their five-bedroom, 1,900-square-foot terraced apartment in Tribeca for $36.8 million last month – after paying $25 million for the unit in 2018.

In their new exclusive neighborhood, Brady and his family will be in the company of billionaire investors, entrepreneurs, and some other household names.

The celebrity couple with be just doors away from Trump and Kushner, who bought a $30million lot on the island in late 2020 from musician Julio Iglesias.

The couple plans to build the home in an environmentally-sustainable fashion and will play a hands-on role in helping design it, according to reports

Billionaire Soffer – who was once married to supermodel Claudia Schaeffer – moved into the neighborhood after buying his sister’s $17million estate in late 2020. Fellow billionaire Icahn lives in a $24million estate on the island.

Also nearby is Hotels.com founder Robert Diener, who lives in a 14,260-square-foot mansion with wife Michelle. The couple bought their estate for $5million in 2000. Former Sears chief executive Eddie Lampert moved onto the island after snapping up a $38.4million Palladian villa in 2012.

Other billionaire neighbors include former United Airways chief executive Rakesh Gangwal, who paid $30million for a 15,475-quare-foot mansion in 2015. Marquis Bank chief executive Javier Holtz lives down the street in a home estimated to be worth $39million.

Legendary Miami Dolphins coach Don Shula lived there until his 2020 death, and his wife Mary still lives in the home they bought in 1989 for nearly $4million.

The island was once home to a number of celebrities, including Beyonce and Jay Z, who sold their home to Dutch entrepreneur Geert-Jan Bakker for $9.3million in 2010.

Supermodel Adriana Lima also called the island home, until she sold her $40million mansion last year. She bought the property for $9million in 2009, the Miami Herald reported.

The hip-shaking Colombian singer Shakira also once lived on the island.
