A Mediterranean Mansion in L.A. Developed by Motorcycle Racer—Last Listed for $15.8 Million—Heads to Auction

A modern house in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles that was listed for $15.8 million in December, will be auctioned without reserve later this week through DeCaro Auctions International.

Completed in 2019, the house sits on just under a half-acre of land and offers 9,000 square feet of living space with four bedrooms, four full bathrooms and three half bathrooms, according to the auction house.

Designed by architect Richardson Robertson III, who is known for designing Mediterranean and other revival-style homes, the house features detailed craftsmanship inside and out. The two-story house has red roofs in contrast with its white walls, and is distinguished with a porte-cochère and a private flagstone motor court.

Interior space also includes a movie theater, an 800-bottle wine cellar, a library, a family room with built-ins, and a living room that opens to a deck. Outdoors, there’s an infinity pool and parking space for multiple cars.

“This world-class home offers the opportunity to experience the luxuries that Los Angeles’ finest neighborhood has to offer,” said John Torrey of DeCaro Auctions International.

The property was developed by retired Grand Prix motorcycle road racer John Kocinski, the Los Angeles Times previously reported. Mr. Kocinski, 53, won a Grand Prix World Championship in 1990 and a Superbike World Championship in 1997.

He could not be immediately reached for comment.

The auction will take place on site on Saturday. Remote bidding is also available.
