New Construction Designer Home in Los Angeles Lists for Nearly $12 Million

An airy new construction home in the Brentwood section of Los Angeles came on the market last week asking $11.995 million.

The six-bedroom home was created by high-profile architectural designer Jae Omar in collaboration with architect Eran Gispan and developer JVE Development. It comes on the heels of a $26 million Omar-designed listing hitting the market in Encino, as well as Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay’s purchase of a $14 million Hidden Hills mansion created by the designer.

“I personally think Jae is the most talented designer I’ve seen in a long time,” said The Altman Brothers Team at Douglas Elliman’s Matt Altman, who shares the listing with brother Josh Altman, as well as Jacqueline Chernov of Compass. “He’s got such great style and a such unique look [to his properties], and the quality is on such a different level.”

“The way he builds, it’s not like building a spec house, it’s like he’s building something for himself,” Mr. Altman added.

Designed for indoor-outdoor living, listing photos show a sunny open-plan layout on the main level with wood-paneled walls and ceilings, and an open kitchen and living room with glass doors leading out in the home’s backyard. The outdoor space includes a pool with an attached hot tub as well as a lawn, patio seating, an outdoor kitchen and bar, and a fully completed accessory dwelling unit that can be used as a guest residence or additional recreational space.

“The accessory dwelling unit in the back is incredible, the sheer size of it,” Mr. Altman said. “It’s right off the pool and fully set up. You can use it as a giant cabana pool area, or turn it into an incredible gym.”

“It has a full bedroom, and whether someone wants to work from home, train at home, or have someone living there, it offers such an invaluable extra space,” Mr. Altman added. “It’s nicer than any hotel room you’d find.”

The main floor in the primary residence also includes a large open kitchen with islands and breakfast bar seating; a separate bar area with wine storage; and a large open dining area, per listing photos.

Upstairs, a primary suite is set up with a marble fireplace, walk-in closets, “spa-grade” en-suite bathroom, and a private balcony.

“This property represents my signature contemporary farmhouse style, but with a deconstructed facade that was paired down to create a greater juxtaposition with the opulent and natural palette that runs throughout the interior,” Mr. Omar said in an emailed statement.

The 7,240-square-foot home also features office space, a home theater, an attached garage with electric vehicle charging and smart home technology, per the listing.

The listing came on the market last Monday, and the developers bought the property for $2.725 million in late 2020, according to records.
